I know, I know, 35mm film canisters aren't technically known as cans but this cassette/cartridge (however you want to call it) is well made and makes opening them pretty smooth, like opening cans.I've previously owned nameless brand ones and while they do work, the cheaper manufacturing quality meant that the edge of the bent prongs don't align well with the cap of the film canister, causing a whole lot of slips, scratches to the paint (bad if you wanted to use the empty canister for DIY) or bent canisters. The last aspect, bent canisters, is dependent of the film manufacturer too but a better quality one really alleviates the possibility of problems. The listing doesn't explicitly say it, although you can see it on the silicone handle in the picture, but this film cassette opener is made by JJC and it works great... a far cry from my previous experience. The silicone handle is also pretty great as it is comfortable to hold and makes the grip wider. So, overall, as someone developing my own negatives at home, this is a great film opener and their film retriever works great too! Highly recommended.

This grips 35mm canister tops better than any bottle opener I've tried. Pretty good to know when your in the dark. Comfortable grip and nice quality.

This is surprisingly robust for what it's made for, it works perfectly on my film rolls, I haven't had any issues with damage of slipping, it just does what it's meant to do quite nicely.Overall I feel very comfortable giving this my recommendation

I have always managed without this tool, but I stumbled on it and it works great. I love it. It fits comfortably in the hand and has a pleasing weight. It takes some stress out of developing films.

This thing works, but I find that it slips off of the film canister and it takes quite a few tires to get it to pop the canister lid off. It's ok but I'd recommend something else.
