This Adapter is one of the greatest find. I wish I would have had one on my last HP laptop. The cable damaged the socket and the repair is very expencive.

I needed a connector to work with an iPhone 15 Pro, and the description said this was compatible. While it worked while my Apple case was off (for testing), my Apple case is never off. The barrel of the connector won't allow this USB C to seat properly. It's a clever design for a laptop where you likely won't have a case, but for the iPhone with a case it's not working for me.

It took me a while to figure out what problem this product was trying to solve. Let's say you have a device with a USB-C port that you plug into the same cable over and over again, like a newer laptop power supply. Instead of plugging and unplugging over and over again, with the wear and tear that entails, you plug this gizmo into the port, plug the cable into the other end, and then separate them at the magnet.It's not a bad idea. It cuts down on the torque you put on the plug. And if you snag the cord, the magnet will break away instead of dragging your device along with it.The main drawback is that once the gizmo is in the USB-C port, you can't use it for anything else without removing it. And being low-profile, it is not easy to remove once it is in there. That means you always have to use the same port and cable. That might work in a laptop power supply situation, but it would be a pain with a phone.There are a few other minor nits:* the description shows the specs printed on the device, mine is completely blank* the description shows a loop of string that can be used to remove the gizmo, mine did not come with that

Initially great, but in only a few weeks the magnet has weakened considerably.
