Put the strut in my truck January or 2024 and it snapped on January of 2025. But because I bought it December 24th of 2023 they wouldn't do anything but offer a percent off to order another piece of junk. Snapped at the lower portion of the strut assembly. I do not use my truck daily and I might have opened the tailgate over the whole year 50 or less times. Will not recommend this product and will not purchase from this seller again.

Purchased for a 2006 Dodge 2500. The tailgate is heavy and is hard for my wife to let down. This was easy to install for the most part and works as advertised. Pop the gate, it falls about 3-4 inches then slowly lowers. Takes some getting used to but it makes my wife happy, and me as well.

For years dealt with a heavy tailgate on a 3/4 beast til now and now all I do is unlock and walk away! Installation was easy but the pictures illustrating the assembly were just out right amateurish. Based on the pictures you cannot make sense of the install but once it’s on it works great! It’s new so we will see how it works after the first year and in the cold.

Unit doesn’t hold up to any wear - rarely drive the truck and unit failed 2 times and was put back together and 3 time broke completely all within couple months of having it on the vehicle - other truck has name brand unit and been on for 6 years no issues - save your money buy quality
