I spent a lot of time looking into this. I have expensive wool carpet and rugs I was told steam clean only by the carpet store. I read contradictory information on that online but everyone agreed hot water is bad for the fibers so I was not comfortable buying a steam extractor.I chose the BG 10 based on other recommendations.I used it yesterday and love it.Pros…Lighter weight than the Rug Doctor so it’s easier to work withEasy to fill clean and dirty water tanksMy BG10 will be clean every time I use it, as opposed to the dirty and smelly Rug Doctors I rentedIt works very well at its job…. Cleaning my carpetsLeaves the carpet drier than the rented RDs.It pays for itself after the first cleaning of the carpets and rugs versus using a professionalWe have very hard water here and I believe that many cleanings over the years have left some calcium residuals on the fibers of the carpets that I replaced. Those fibers felt stiff and almost crusty after 15 cleanings. . It wasn’t dirt so I believe it was the calcium in the water.I use distilled water for cleaning the new carpet and did two separate rinse runs with it too. The carpet feels soft. There was zero perfume smell from the Bissell Woolite with Oxy cleaning solution after the rinses The water was still a little dirty even after the second rinse even though the carpets were only a year old, don’t get a lot of foot traffic, and looked clean. That tells me this machine works.I put a couple of fans on and the carpets were dry in about 3 hours. They smell great.If you want to protect your wool carpets and keep them clean, the BG10 will be a great purchase.

I am so happy we finally took the plunge and bought this machine after years of renting it! It works amazing! As you can see the carpet was instantly transformed back to its original color! The funny thing is I knew it was dirty but had no idea it was that dirty!My technique: I like to use hot tap water with a deep cleaner mixed in for the first pass. This gets it very clean but I like to go over it again with just water to rinse out the cleaner. I prefer not to smell cleaner on the carpet. Then it also gives it a second pass. I finished cleaning this area rug at 7pm, left it overnight in the garage with temps of 60. It was completely dry by 8am and ready to go back on the hardwood. We moved the area rug to the garage because we didn’t want the hardwood floor underneath to become wet. I will mention though I did lift it on the garage to see if water was accumulating below the it. The floor remained dry.

Did a great job. Better than rental cleaner used prior times. Only drawback is smaller reservoir so it needs to be refilled more often. Highly recommended .

Very good product. Do not regret this purchase at all. I have been shopping for a while a finally decided to go for this model. Very robust, it is doing an awesome job on carpet, couch, sofa even with my winter jacket using the hand tool (big green commercial hose) sold separately. I saw the other residential options at the store and I do not regret to have chosen this commercial deep cleaning machine. Design is robust, simple to use and easy to maintain.

I've had this machine for at least 2 years now and I have to say its awesomeThis simply just works!I have 2 dogs, a golden and an Irish wolfhound. If anything can be a test for a carpet cleaner, a couple dogs rate right up there with young children!Works great! Could almost suck the colour out of a marble!The only problem was today the flow indicator started spraying cleaning fluid out of it.took it apart and had to reglue the plastic housing.A wee bit of epoxy glue and we're back in business. (side note, 5-minute epoxy really means that it takes 5 minutes of working time and 24 hours of curing time a So that meant a beer break for a day )If you really want a carpet cleaner that sucks the dirt out of your carpet, Look no more!
