It works as advertised with my LG portable air conditioner. Enables certain features unavailable without the remote (ex. auto swing and auto clean).

This is the control that should have been with the air conditioner I have. When I bought the air conditioner, they supplied only a partial remote for the controls on the machine. The part of the system that I needed to trouble shoot could only be accessed by the remote control . I found the right one at Amazon and now have a fully functioning air conditioner.
