I got these little bowls to hold various sets of dice when I play D&D. I was previously using glass bowls, but I wanted something smaller and unbreakable. These let me keep everything handy in a very compact way.I only needed about eight and these do come in a pack of 48. But Mrs. Patient appropriated the rest and reports they work equally well for organizing small bits for craft and art projects.The sloped sides make it easy to get small things out, individually or en masse.I had wished they would be a little quieter; while they make less noise than glass, they're still pretty loud. But I do find that they produce just the right amount of noise needed to instill a level of anxiety in my players appropriate to the size of the handful of dice I just grabbed. So maybe that's not all bad.These bowls are melamine, so while they're not unbreakable it's certainly something you'd have to put your mind to. Which is great. But that does mean no oven or microwave use. That, combined with the sloped sides, makes me question whether it's appropriate to call them ramekins. You're certainly not going to make creme brûlée in them! Single-serve instant pudding, maybe. Or dipping sauces. (They'd be great holding soy sauce for sushi.) But that's about it.All in all, they're great for what they are, even if that isn't what they are advertised to be.

I bought these to hold beads for a jewelry class. They worked perfectly- the size is great, beads showed up well against the white melamine, and the rounded square shape made it easy to pour the beads back into their bags at the end.

I know this isn't the intended purpose of ramekins, but we use these to feed our passle of cats. They are melamine and unbreakable, and the size is just right for the cats. Since this is a large set of ramekins, we will also be using the extras for condiment cups. I especially like the size and stackable nature of the cups.
