This does get the seeds as you simply drag it along the melon. The problem is when the seeds are deeper than just surface seeds. When you did into the watermelon with this tool, it kind of mangles the melon

Watermelons are a regular summer treat on my plate. Even though I usually opt for seedless varieties, they always seem to have a few seeds. This seed removal tool sounded like a perfect solution. It's essentially a tiny rake with a plastic top and a metal (likely steel) grabbing section. Overall, it's a budget-friendly option that doesn't come with any frills in terms of packaging. The tool itself is functional, but it can sometimes dig a bit too deeply, leaving stretch marks in the watermelon flesh. It takes some practice to find the right touch for removing seeds without damaging the fruit.

I got this tool on a lark. I mean I didn't even know that watermelon seeders were a thing but turns out they are and this one works like a charm. It's easier to get the seeds out with this dedicated tool than a traditional fork. Yeah - you can live without it but why? Life is short. If something makes your life easier why not? I love watermelon and this tool has already seen use as we got our first two watermelons of the season this week and last. Highly recommended.

We recently purchased a watermelon that was suppose to be "seedless". Unfortunately my little ones will not eat watermelon with lots of seeds. This little tool came to the rescue. It is easy to use, simply rake the seeds out as it states. It did a good job of removing the big seeds, but will still leave the little edible seeds behind. Overall, I would say this tool performed well enough that my kids would eat the watermelon. It is small and compact, so very easy to store. Definately a great value for this little tool.
