Worked on my 2002 C5 Corvette Base Model with Auto Transmission. I had to clear all the trouble codes that I was getting for the ABS/TCM and charge faults from when the voltage was low with the bad alternator. It took two drives to clear everything and has been working fine since. Voltage stays between 13.8 and 14.2v with max air and subwoofers cranking. That's with the 114degree summer here in Phoenix. Two day delivery, no core charge and was under $200. Easy to install and I am very happy with it.

It is a direct fit for my 2002 C5 corvette. It charges at 13.8 V consistently. Works fine. Easy install.

Based on previous customer review, I requested a cancellation of this order. The supplier granted and everything was in order to return. I received this alternator March 5, 2020 and upon receipt, opened to confirm no damage and ready to return. However, on review of product and test data, I decided to install. My 2004 Corvette was built with a Valeo alternator and the item from DB was exact same configuration. Due to prior concerns, I removed the rear inspection cover: The bearings were identical part number and manufacturer as the OEM Valeo and updated slip ring brush housing. All the solder/brazed armature connections were superior to the OEM Valeo and paint to verify close-out on all the electrical and mechanical fastener locations (and all fasteners were secure as they were supposed to be). Pulley rotational breakaway torque was very good and pulley runout was better than my OEM. To summarize, the alternator is equal or better quality than my OEM Valeo unit. Reason for such scrutiny: I have purchased 3 other (this was number 4) alternators for my Corvette and they ranged from substandard to unusable. Issues were: Dis-colored rectifiers (suspect over heating), incorrect/unacceptable armature electrical joints, loose fasteners and damaged rotor bearings (I suspect damaged in transit however still unusable). Of the 4 each purchased, this was the only unit furnished with test data, which is to my thinking, proof of product conformity and satisfactory operation. My unjustified request for return (before I decided to keep it) was a previous customer review of low operating voltage. This was not evident for the item received: Per test data and my instrument panel, voltage is approximately 14.5 (test data states 14.4 @ 865 alternator RPM). I believe this to be a very cost effective and safe method to restoring your Corvette's charging system, maintain OEM configuration/appearance and especially for those who expect reliability of cars that are not daily drivers.
