This vintage leather journal is perfect for keeping my thoughts and notes secure. The lock adds a layer of privacy, and the A5 size is just right for daily writing. The 200 refillable pages are lined and of high quality, and the included pen is a nice touch. It’s great for personal use or as a gift. Highly recommend for anyone needing a stylish and secure diary!

I love writing and have been trying to find a way to get my daily thoughts out when I don't have the chance to talk to someone. I have a child, so I also wanted a way to keep those thoughts private, just in case little eyes get nosey. This diary seems to do well to achieve that goal. The quality for most of it is decent. It looks very stylish. It's a good size. The combination is very easy to change. There are included instructions for finding your combination if you forget it, which is awesome. The inside of the front cover has three slits that I assume is for notes or business cards or stuff like that. This diary includes a pen that comes with a piece of wax or plastic over the point to keep it from leaking. It removes easily. There are a few minor issues as well though. The paper is super thin, so you can see what's printed on the backside of the paper through the paper. Depending on how heavy-handed you are with your writing, that may or may not be a problem when it comes to re-reading what you've written. The loop that is included for holding the pen feels flimsy and like it's not going to last very long, plus it seems like it's not fully attached. The pen itself is just okay quality. I suspect it won't last too long, but you never know. I don't think it's a ballpoint pen, judging by the way it feels when I write, but that doesn't necessarily matter. None of these issues are deal breakers though - just minor things I noticed. I will happily continue to use this journal until it's completely full.

Full disclosure: I am a stickler for good quality when it comes to books, paper, pens, all things stationery really, so I may be tougher than others when it comes to reviewing this type of product.I really wanted to like this more because it presented well when I initially opened the package. The cover is nicely stitched and although it is synthetic leather rather than genuine leather, it still looks nice and feels nice for synthetic. And I'm a big fan of the ribbon bookmark feature in a journal. However, because I really am particular about stationery products, I couldn't like it as much as I wanted to once I examined the set in detail. It's not that it's bad; I'm sure that many would find it perfectly suitable. But to my mind, the quality is sub-par particularly the quality of the paper, which is the most important part of a journal set. Sure the binding matters and the pen matters but it is the paper that matters most. Without high quality paper, everything else falls to the wayside anyway. And this set does not have high quality paper. In addition, the pen isn't all that great either. It's okay, but nothing to write home about. Oops, that pun was not actually intended. That said, I do think that this would be a terrific set for a teenager or for anyone who isn't a real stickler about the kind of paper they want to write their thoughts on. I also think that a teen would absolutely LOVE the locking feature (which works perfectly and I have no complaints about, by the way.)So, it gets 4 stars from me. I was tempted to give it 3 at first but when I add up all of the pros and cons, I realize that there are a lot more pros than cons, and I realize that there is definitely more than one demographic that would really love this set so it really does deserve 4 stars rather than 3.

I got this Journal with Lock for my son. The navy blue leather cover gives it a stylish, vintage look, and the lock is a nice feature for keeping his personal thoughts secure. It was easy to set up, and he feels confident knowing his writing is private. The 200 lined pages offer plenty of space for daily journaling. The paper quality is good—thick enough to handle ink without bleeding.
