Engel builds the absolute best live cooler there is. The airline port is on the top of the lid. This is important because it reduces the chances of leaks. I have traveled with my cooler inside my truck for hundreds of miles from the bait shop without a single drop of water leaking out of the cooler. Some of the competitors put the airline port on the side which is poor by design. That design limits how much water you can and if the water sloshes ITS GOING TO LEAK. Not on the Engle though. You can add water nearly to the very top and the cooler simply will not leak. The cloth strap and the design of its attachment to the cooler is genius. The strap wraps all the way under the bottom, providing full weight support onto the strap. This is important for the durability of the cooler since the weight is not carried by attachment points on the side of the cooler. I have zero worries about my cooler breaking because of the attachment method. The cooler is insulated and the water stays cool even on the hottest days. Engel builds lifelong coolers that you will be very happy with.

You won't go wrong with the ENGEL BAIT COOLER. The 13qt works out great for my application. Any thing larger I felt it would be to heavy/awkward to carry when full. I would purchase 3 dozen large shiners 4 - 5 inch at a time. May wife and I go through maybe a dozen a day. I've kept 1 to 2 dozen alive for up to 5-6 days. I'd changed the water daily and add a hand full of dying vegetation for food and a frozen water bottle for cooler temp. Lid open during the day with wire cover, they like to jump, closed at night. At $13 dollars a doz. here in Fla. you do what you can to keep your bait alive. I Upgraded the D-cell gen-2 aerator to the rechargeable Ultra Quiet Lithium aerator for 36 plus hours of working time. I never depleted the battery so I can't tell you how long it will last. The D-Cell Gen 2 aerator I'd change the batteries around 24 hours of use, never fully depleted them also. I can tell you this, switching between the two aerators, I have constantly kept then running 24-7 for 3 weeks, except for my trips to the bait shop. I tipped the cooler over once, no leaks, has a great seal. The net insert is a plus, just lift it up and grab your bait. I've learn in my 73 years, you get what you pay for.
