Works perfectly. I had an internal BD recorder that I couldn't place in my new computer, but I hated to get rid of it. This allows me to connect it externally and still use it!

BestBuy was going to charge me over $300 to move files from a couple old hard drives to my storage drive with no start time nor complete time! Bought this little gem, powered up the drives and saved off my old photos and files.

I changed my review from 1 to 4 stars for now...as I finally got it to working again. Did nothing different...just plugged it in again and it started working. Will leave the review at 4 stars to see if it continues working and doesn't have an intermittent problem.Worked great the first two times I used it. Then today...I hooked it up and it would not power up. The power supply seems to be fine, I checked it with a volt meter. But the device will not power up at all. Even tried it with a known good power supply of the same voltage and polarity and still nothing. Total waste of money to be able to use it twice.

My external hard drive had very sensitive, personal and family memories on it and it was no longer being recognized on any computer that I would connect it to, despite all the troubleshooting steps that I tried to get it working.On a last and hopeful effort before considering professional data recovery services, I decided to order this converter and to my pleasant surprise it was able to establish a reading communication with the external hard drive and my computer, and I was able to see all my personal data again and back it up to a secure, reliable location.Thank you so much for a quality product!
