This shoes has a hard and inflexible soles which aid in power transmission. Bottom of the soles was “sticky” to the pedal for the first usage but that sensation, sadly, went away after a few usage.The dole-shape design on the bottom of the soles attempts to prevent laterally slippage (of shoes on pedal), but the foot may still slip if not careful

Love em’. I also have the version with the tan rubber sides which I bought first but they are a bit worn now. I love the grip and look of these MTB shoes... reminiscent of my old school Adidas Sambas that I used to wear in my soccer days. These are comfortable to wear riding and around town. Love them! Not sure how they perform on a serious MTB trail; I stick to mostly greens or maybe blues, mountain trails, and fire/access trails.
