The smell is great, the color looks and feels amazing, and it surrounds a field notes journal sparingly. The pen holder holds Pilot G2’s without issue. Perfect for note taking.

Perfect for keeping a pocket notebook and pen with you always. Fits right alongside my phone without adding too much bulk to my pocket. Bonus patina of the leather the more you use and carry it around

What a quality product! Made from real leather, this notebook cover is the perfect fit for my field notes. I like that when you put your field notes in it, the fit is tight and grabs onto the notebook so it doesn't fall out but it's not such a tight fit that it's difficult to put the notebook in. It's absolutely gorgeous too and gives you that nice leather smell that comes from real leather. The pen holder is fantastic and holds my miniature pen perfectly. I really love the feel of the notebook cover. It's light and practical. I also like the fact that it comes with a card holder on the inside left of the cover. It makes storing cards or small pieces of paper very convenient. I am 100% satisfied with this cover and would highly recommend it for anyone looking for a high quality leather notebook cover for their field notes.

This is a well-made little leather cover for a 5.5x3.5 inch field book. It has a nice little pocket for a Tracker card to help out this forgetful senior person who really doesn't want to lose their notebook in addition to today's to do list. I pair mine with waterproof Notepad and Tactical Pin that can write in the rain. I find the leather has a nice organic patina and takes my typical beeswax leather water proofing treatment very nicely. It darkens just like I liked it. The way it absorbs a beeswax and oil mixture and it's natural saddle smell without a strong chemical aroma makes me think it's probably vegetable tanned leather. With a little time and light conditioning it will likely burnish and hold a shine naturally as it lives in my right pocket. Pictures show how after a few days of conditioning and use it darkened compared to the similarly colored leather keychains that the same vendor included with the package for color reference on how it can quickly darken and develop patina and preshine luster with waterproof conditioning. I am 100% happy with my purchase and the most definitely going to buy additional leather products in the future from this vendor.

Great cover. Exactly as described, for a true minimalist be aware that it sits flater without a pen but in real terms is easily the only cover to compete with a Bellroy at a fraction of the cost. Get one, you won't regret it.
