I'm deducting one star due to inconsistent lube job. These are still very smooth out of the box. I pulled apart two switches and saw that the rails were a little splotchy with lube. Not an even coat of lube over the entirety of the rail. Other than that this switch is great.

I've never heard of Gateron before I got these, but I am quite a fan of mechanical key switches. The Gateron yellows appear to be the next to highest in the way of operating force. They seem pretty smooth, and very well made. They don't seem to have any defects or issues from my tests. I might end up ordering more and building a keyboard with these!

These Gateron G Pro 3.0 yellow switches are similar to their well-known red counterparts, just with a slightly (5g) heavier spring. They come pre-lubed and are quite smooth. Just like other G Pro 3.0 switches, they have a clear upper housing and a curved light diffuser.I installed them in a budget-oriented keyboard along side Gateron G Pro 3.0 reds. I don't notice any difference in smoothness or sound between the two. The yellows are just barely heavier to press, but it is a perceivable difference while typing. The pack of 10 switches seems very expensive, but I assume the reason for this is because it is a sample pack. They become much more affordable when purchased in larger quantities.I prefer a light spring so I will be swapping back to the red switches in my keyboard. Still, I wouldn't complain if I had to use yellows. They seem like a standard, quality switch that I would consider for any entry-level or mid-range keyboard build.

I personally love Gateron switches and in the 4 keyboards here at the house, each one is fitted with Gateron switches. Personally, I'm a really huge fan of their brown and black switches, but when I saw these online, I had to grab them as I've never used yellow switches before. Wife has Gateron Pro 3.0 red switches, my gaming setup is using Ink v2 Blacks, my work keyboard using Pro 3.0 browns, and my child's keyboard with the Pro 3.0 blues.Like it was mentioned in a few other reviews, I don't notice a really big difference between the reds and the yellows, but honestly, I'm heavy fingered and is why I don't use reds too often. I accidentally press keys all the time with them. On my NZXT Function TKL, I replaced a few browns with these 10 pieces. Yes, yellow and brown switches are something you will notice a big difference on, but in a way, I want to get a keyboard now with yellow switches fully as the actuation of the switches needs a bit more oompf. I don't mean bringing the hammer down on the key, but slightly pushing the key, you can feel the tension already built up ready to go back into position. I actually like them and am now really tempted on getting another keyboard just to make one out of these switches... The switches are great and I do recommend them.P.S. - If you haven't gotten into custom keyboards, be aware that it can get pricey, but after creating my own and having keyboards with hot swappable switches, I won't go back to a regular keyboard. I need my Gaterons.

I snapped these up on Vine as soon as I saw them available because I had already bought a set prior for my latest keyboard build.Gateron is a well known brand name switch company and they have yet to make a bad switch. These Yellow Pro 3.0's are absolutely divine. They sound and feel amazing straight out of the box. The factory lube is decent and serviceable, but if you want to take them to the next level, definitely lube them yourself. These are perfect for gaming or office work or both.I cannot recommend these more. Fantastic switches!
