Just checked this as part of a 5k oil change in my 2020 Tahoe. About half full of a nasty brown oil/water mix that didn't make it back into the engine. Great quality and easy install, looks OEM.

Easy to install and no vacuum leaks. Very well made solution and not an overseas brand that will develop vacuum leaks in time.

First, I'm pretty sure the other reviewer Ben Robinson is incorrect about the reverse orientation. I'd think K&N would have thought about the proper orientation and made sure their instructions were correct, and that it would be intuitive for the logo to face you in the correct position. If you look at the attached graphic from K&N themselves, the internal filter is on the right side where clean air is exiting the can, which is what you'd want. That said, admittedly I don't remember if mine matched that graphic before installing, so I'd have to remove it and take it apart to confirm. Maybe I'll do that at some point. I also attached a photo of the finished installation.I have an unboxing/overview video and an installation video of this oil catch can on my YouTube channel Optimized DIY.I'm going to guess that if you've landed on this product page, you've probably decided that you want an oil catch can. My simple conclusion was that it's not going to hurt anything, and there are plenty of videos out there with guys clearly showing these things do indeed capture oil, so that was good enough for me. I'm right at 100,000 miles on my 2016 Silverado so I figured I'd do what I can to prolong the life of this engine.I'm writing this in January 2024. I'm pretty sure K&N just launched this product line recently. I know for this specific application of Silverado, Sierra, Yukon, Tahoe, and Suburban with the 5.3 liter or the 6.2 liter engines, this product launched around November 2023. They also have one for the Ford F150 that launched a few months prior to this one I think.I had just decided in December 2023 that I wanted an oil catch can and happened to land on this product while shopping online. Previously, I know the J&L was the popular and obvious choice for a high-quality product for this application. The K&N is cheaper than the J&L and it's 6 ounces, whereas the J&L is half that at 3 ounces. Every oil catch can I've seen is around 3 to 4 ounces, and this is the only one I've seen with a 6 ounce capacity, which obviously means you won't need to empty it as often. Like the J&L, you get metal fittings, high quality hoses, and OEM style quick connectors. So the K&N seems to be the same quality if not superior to the J&L. I've trusted K&N in the past with their air filters and cold air intakes so I'm glad they offer this product now too. Other cheaper inferior catch cans out there use plastic or nylon fittings which will likely fail over time, I would suspect. This one has anodized metal fittings, so that was a major factor for me. This K&N is also a true air oil separator in that it has an internal baffle that separates oil vapor from the air before allowing it to recirculate.Inside the box you've got 2 hoses with the OEM style quick connectors on the end. The hoses feel nice and thick. Instructions have photos included, so that should make installation pretty easy. Two black anodized metal fittings are included, as well as Teflon tape for the threads on those fittings. You also get a mounting bracket and hardware. This thing just feels nice and heavy and well built. It seems to be a high quality product.Installation only took about 30 min. start to finish using a 2.5mm allen key, 8mm socket, and 10mm wrench.I'd like to think I could go maybe as long as emptying this thing every oil change, hopefully not sooner than that, but we'll see. I plan to do an update after about 1,000 miles where I empty it and see what it captured.
