This was purchased to remove a coat of Deck Over and it worked Great. It was a learning curve but once you get the hang of it, then the old coating really goes away.

I bought this wood deck paint removal and when I used it I was beyond pleased with how efficiently it took out the paint. I ordered a second one thinking that one was not enough to finish my deck but as stated in the product instructions it will do 1,000 sq. ft and it did just that. The seller was kind enough to reimburse my second order without hesitation. Excellent product and excellent customer service.

I took on the challenging task of working on a client's deck that had been previously stained and painted with Bear's deck over in a textured finish. Let me tell you, removing that stuff was an absolute nightmare. I attempted various chemical solutions, but they were expensive, time-consuming, and ultimately ineffective in removing the old paint. Even sanding with 30 grit didn't yield any positive results. After three days of brainstorming, I turned to the internet to find a solution. That's when I came across the Diamabrush, which became my last hope.Let me tell you; this tool is simply incredible! It instantly stripped everything down to the bare wood. However, there are some essential things to keep in mind when using it:-BUY THE DUST SHIELD!!! The particles come off at high speed, making it a little dangerous without proper protection. A full face mask with the Diamabrush dust shield is essential.-Be cautious around exposed nails. Avoid going over them directly. Instead, work around them and return to handle them at the end. The tool might eat the nail, causing damage to the blades, and considering the tool's cost, you wouldn't want to render it useless by losing a blade.-Use minimal pressure. The best results come when you allow the machine's weight to work for you. Applying too much pressure can gouge the wood.-Ensure the tool is flat and evenly pressurized. This will help maintain consistent results and prevent any unnecessary damage. In my experience, even after working on a 600 sq/ft deck, the blades still had around 50% life left. The Diamabrush is a game-changer, making the seemingly impossible task much more manageable.

There are two key things to consider when using this tool: Safety and Finesse. If you aren't extremely careful using this tool, you could have a very bad day. Using a guard and vacuum hose are imperative. Second, finesse. You really need a light touch if using it to remove paint from soft surfaces like wood. I found it took some practice, but once I figured out the sweet spot, it was extremely effective in removing multiple layers of old paint. I think this item is overpriced. Considering the materials necessary to make it are very common, and it's basically a piece of molded plastic with metal inserts, this ought to cost $25 - $30 tops. Even so, it saved me a lot of time on a hard job.

I'd pulled up an extremely old vinyl floor in our kitchen remodel, (26' X 12'). What was left was a thick green paper with an even thicker coating of that old black mastic beneath it! NIGHTMARE! I rented a buffing machine, (Orange store) with the larger version of this blade on it. I wrestled with that for 12 hours and all it got off was the green paper and a very SMALL amount of the mastic! I searched around and found this handy little guy! Went to Harbor Freight and bought there cheapest 4 1/2" grinder, slapped this baby on and went to work. I ended up getting all the mastic off in 6 hours! Not going to say it was easy, but this device requires very little if any pressure while using. The tool is still in great shape after all that and I'm sure I'll use it for a multitude of projects in the future. Don't hesitate, this is what you need! Oh yeah, wear a mask!UPDATE:I have used the heck outta this tool at this point and it's still amazing me every time! Removed lead paint (multiple coats) off our old house doors/frames and windows. And have done some wood carving with it. It's still working great and no matter how hard I am on it it hasn't worn out or broken. A+++++
