The shower head was easy to install and works well. However, the small box the showerhead was packaged in, had come open in the torn paper mailer in which other items from Amazon had been loosely placed. The showerhead had actually slipped out of its small box. Fortunately, everything I ordered from Amazon was intact.

This is an odd one, I spent several confused showers trying to figure out if I like this or not. It's an unassuming little thing, but it definitely accomplishes the job of maintaining a powerful high-pressure effect at a very low flow. I say "effect" because it doesn't have traditional jets, rather it's a single nozzle that sprays in a wide cone.If you've ever used a showerhead with a "mist" setting, it's like a more focused version of that. Similar to a mist jet, the pressure feels really strong close to the head, but disperses with distance from the head and outward from the center of the stream. So if you mount this up high or prefer to stand back in the shower, you might find it pretty insubstantial. But if you stand right under it, it DOES feel very powerful and the coverage is surprisingly wide, even if the force is mostly at the center. What finally cemented this for me as one worth keeping is the fact that it accomplishes this while staying truly low flow. My tub drains very poorly, so it's easy to tell how much water I'm using by how quickly it fills up around my feet. This one didn't outpace the drain at all, which is rare.If only it didn't look so dorky on my shower's extender arm!

Had I not read good reviews from sites like Wirecutter, and I'd seen this for the first time, I would have thought it was a toy-hefty but still a toy. Well, it's small but powerful. Gives a really nice strong stream I find invigorating. If you want to dance and sway during your shower, get a rain type shower head, not this baby. This one wakes you up and refreshes you.Installation is a breeze. I found I had to turn it a bit with an adjustable wrench as hand tight leaves small leaks. When installing look into the shower head and set it so the slot the water comes out is horizontal not vertical. You get better coverage that way. It's all metal, no plastic so it should last a long time. The slot the water comes out should also prevent mineral build up. I think this slot instead of little holes might account for the little bit louder water stream than other heads. I don't find it objectionable but it is a little noisier than the head it replaced. In the picture you can see I have it connected to a diverter that switches between shower head or hand held shower (or a third option of both-not sure when you'd use that). I'm using the all metal hammerhead shower diverter instead of the popular delta. It seems way better made to me. I also added a picture of a grab bar and held shower holder just because it's amazing technology. Holds 250 pounds and is ADA compliant and requires no drilling whatsoever. Very helpful for elderly or disabled folks that use the shower. They make a lot of interesting things that use the same German technology for installation. Look it up at nodrillingrequired.com.As for the shower head - just an excellent product. I bought the 1. 8 GPM version but the 1.5 would have been plenty strong. Saving water and energy. A win-win.

I'm on a well which delivers water pressure anywhere from 25-45PSI, so good water pressure has always been a challenge. After much searching, I decided to replace the Delta Water-Amplifying shower head with High Sierra's WaterSense Certified 1.8GPM High Efficiency Low Flow showerhead. No comparison. Wow! such a HUGE difference.Rinsing off is no longer an issue! Water droplets are like raindrops, and the spray pattern is concentrated in the center -where it's needed most unlike the Delta which had a much more conical spray pattern where water was wasted spraying on the shower curtain & wall instead of on you. The High Sierra has a ball swivel joint where you can easily direct the water flow as desired. What you get is a shower that is like being deluged in a rainstorm, rather than a pins & needles-like experience. Sound level is average -and It is certainly not noisy.I wasn't entirely certain which flow rate model to buy. I will say this... I find that the 1.8GPM is plenty. Personally, I likely would have been happy with the 1.5GPM model, but having that "extra" flow rate keeps all family members happy, and I find that I now run the water at half, rather than "full blast" like I used to with the other showerhead.Build quality is superb -all metal components, and a high quality chrome finish (the model I purchased)Unless your pipe threads are in rough shape, you shouldn't need any teflon tape(not included). There is an O-ring which should be sufficient. I was able to hand tighten with no leaks.I am very impressed, and only wish that I had discovered the High Sierra and replaced my shower head sooner!
