This leather is smooth on one side, suede on the other, and about 1/16" thick. The thickness is consistent throughout the roll. The leather is reasonably flexible yet stiff enough for use as strap-handles. This product was just right for my project.

I received this product for evaluation. I planned to use the leather strap to make accessories. Since it is about 1" width it seems well suited for cutting and making wide chokers and bracelets. Part of my expectations were met.The quality is great. The material is very good. It has a beautiful color and texture. I tried to cut it with my Cricut Explore and the deep cut blade but it did not work (see the enclosed picture). My advice is not to try cutting it with this machine. However, with the deep cut blade you may be able to do simple engraving. Because it is a 1" wide strap, you need to tape it to the cutting mat.

The description for the leather strap indicated that it was Full Grain Leather, which would mean you get the top layer of hide with only the hair removed. I don't think based on the appearance this could be considered full grain since it is perfectly smooth which would tell me it had been sanded. The description says 2 to 2.4 mm thick and my caliper tells me it is right at 2 mm. I was hoping to use it for a bag strap, but I don't think it has the strength for that. It might make an interesting hat band or if doubled it could be used for a drawer pull. I think it really is only suited for decorative use, too much stretch/give for other items. The cost is probably more than I would expect to pay for this level of quality.

Though this is real leather, it is not what I expected based on the description. I'll use it for more decorative purposes, nothing that can be affected by stretch (like collars or bag straps), or will have very much pressure on it.
