Knipex Cobra Water Pump Pliers are the absolute best. I bought these as presents for both my husband & son-in-law who report they are crazy useful and use them almost every day for a wide variety of tasks. They are easy to adjust and lock with one hand, relatively light weight and balanced, and finely calibrated. While these may cost more than competitors, their fine craftsmanship and superior material quality make them a great value for the money.

I use them in my electrical / instrumentation trade. I like the fact that it locks into place, so it's not alway opening and closing on it's own.It opens very wide for it's size and are amazingly very strong for their size.Little more expensive than other brands but you will not regret it.

He has the best collection of pliers from knipex and snap on, along with all his tools being top notch he knows how to select quality tools and finds them for a bargain! These knipex Cobra are his most recommended size for regular use.

I haven't had them very long, so I can't speak to their overall quality/longevity, but the quality looks pretty good. So far, I love them. I have the 7" and the 10" lengths and so far I'm thrilled with them. They adjust very easily, and the locking device allows you to maintain the exact same "gap" you want, which is ideal for doing repetitive tasks. If anything is going to break on these things, I imagine it would e the locking device pin.Aside from my needlenose pliers, I really don't need any other pliers of any kind. They have pretty much replaced my vice grips, my adjustable wrench, all my regular sets of pliers and it has even replaced my pipe wrench. They work great on metal plumbing/gas pipe. My tool kit just got a whole lot lighter as I will be selling several heavy tools at my next garage sale ... but I will be keeping the needlenose pliers! :)Do yourself a favour and splurge. Can't recommend them highly enough!
