I have a Kuat NV 2.0 1.25" that I used on a previous vehicle. Now both my vehicles have a 2" receiver so I purchased this adapter to make it work. Unfortunately, it did not work - it seems that some older Kuat NV 2.0 racks (I bought mine in 2016) had their hitch pin hole drilled exactly in the center. Subsequently, they made the hole slightly off-center so it would work with either a 1.25" receiver or, with the adapter, a 2" receiver. If you have an older model where the hole is drilled dead center, the adapter offsets the hole too much and the 3/8" hitch pin (the smaller one, the one you need to use with the adapter) will not fit through. Customer service at Kuat is amazing and helped me swap the part that makes it permanently into a 2" receiver, which will resolve my problem. So if you are using a compatible rack and the correct 3/8" hitch pin and it still appears that there's no way it will work, this may also be your issue.

This adapts a 1.25" Thule T2 Pro XTR to a 2" receiver just fine. The Thule's safety side pin also securely plunges into the 2" receiver side hole and into the adapter's side hole.While the Kuat comes with two screws to secure the adapter to the Kuat hitch, these won't work on the Thule hitch, but the screws are mainly for convenience of inserting and removing the items together - a bit fiddly the first time you do it, but otherwise not a problem.

I have a Sherpa 2 bike rack made for a 1.25" receiver. But I need to adapt it to use on my truck 2" receiver. I bought this adapter even though some reviews were bad. Kuat makes good products and I expected this to be good as well.It is a very nice piece of extruded aluminum that is made to bolt onto their 1.25" rack. It comes with 2 allen head bolts that screw into the pre tapped holes on the rack. It is designed to fit so that the anti-wobble mechanism can still be used.The most important thing is that you have to use a 3/8" hitch pin or lock with this adapter bracket. If you do so, the 3/8" pin slides in easily and the anti-wobble feature tightens up the rack as it should. It is a great solution! Now I can use this rack on both of our cars!
