El equipo se anuncia como nuevo pero es "REFABRICADO" funciona a medias, es lento y mecanismo no funciona muy bien al insertar el disco.

I had ordered a different external optical drive for my MacBook Pro (late 2014), but found after a week or two that it didn't recognize or read regular music CDs. I found this LG AP70NS50 as a replacement, which does absolutely everything I want or need. It even looks more like my MacBook, with a matte aluminum finish. At my desk, I have a pull-out keyboard tray under the desk surface. My external Mac keyboard is tilted very slightly, and the thin, thin optical drive sits comfortably on the tray hinge, with its opening accessible to the left, and USB/power cord extending off to the right. Very convenient, and hidden when I don't need it.Very happy with this drive. I've got it connected to my MacBook through a relatively long USB cable and a (powered) USB splitter. No problems at all reading CDs or DVDs.

Old reviews said it is necessary to force the dvds into the device by fingers. Mine nicely sucks the dvds into the chamber after I push it in about 3/4ths of the way. It also ejects it nicely. It is a plug and play device. I downloaded the VLC media player free - found it on the Internet. To get it to work I needed to deal with the fact that I had bought a Lenovo computer that was inexpensive and had a Windows 10 mode S version of Windows. That version attempts to force you to buy the Microsoft media player for $15. But Microsoft gives instructions how to cancel the mode S. See comments on Reddit about the VLC player for help. The useful comment is a sub-comment to a posted comment so click down to it. LG has done a good job in designing this player. It looks nice and has a small footprint. I would buy it again. I cannot tell you how long it will last as I only bought it recently.

My new PC doesn't have a disc drive, so I bought this to be able to read or burn CDs. I originally bought two of the $17 CD/DVD units here on Amazon. Both were junk. The first one arrived DOA. The second one (a different brand) played 5 songs and then quit. Both were returned. I decided that since this was more money and was a known brand, that it might be better. It is. I plugged it into the USB port of my Windows 10 PC. It was recognized immediately and I started using it right away, literally within 45 seconds of plugging it in for the first time. So far, I've read 15 CDs of my wife's to burn to a flash drive and it has worked flawlessly. I also like the fact that it doesn't have a moving disc drawer. Just insert the disc into the slot and the machine grabs it and pulls it in. The old adage of "you get what you pay for" once again holds true. Skip the low-priced junk and buy this one instead.
