Like other reviews, it is an awkward fit and getting the final screw in was impossible. However, I used a small wood clamp and it sandwiched together just fine. I believe the issue is the mount is an exact machined “T” shape, whereas my 1” railing is not causing the indifference in fit. The final fit is perfect, I would recommend.

This rail mount looked small and weak when it showed up in the mail. But when I installed it I found it to be the perfect size. It's sturdy and hold my 4 horse outboard in a solid way, even when the wind is howling and the boat is pounding through the waves. I'm happy with it!

The bracket does not fit over the T-Junction on my stern rail. Just attaching it to the horizontal rail means it swings loose, so I added a rectangular SS plate to the bracket and attached that to the vertical rail. Now works fine.

This is a really sturdy, well made bracket but I couldn't use it. My rails are not at a perfect 90 degrees so this wouldn't work. I carved some of the plastic off the inner guides, but it still wouldn't fit. Check you rails with a builders square.
