I own an old Marantz/ Phillips touchscreen remote RC5200. It had a base that charged but after 20+ years it died and wouldn’t charge. Now I could have found a replacement base on ebay but I wanted to see if I could get this to work which I did. Okay that is the back story now for the product review.This works yes. However you need to know there is a difference between a base and this charger. It has a positive and negative only. What does that mean? The middle wire from a newer style charger to this is an indicator of the charge level or temperature. So it is missing so this gets hot. I put a timer for an hour and get a good enough charge for the temperature I am comfortable with getting.So my friends that have this remote there is an adapter that is needed. Research for yourself what plug your battery is and the three wire plug. The one I found I had to swap the red and black wires. If this worries you buy a new base and move on.
