Aftermarket adapters are not always the best with performance and compatibility with certain camera bodies, and manufacturers, but Meike has done a great job here at producing a very good compatible speed booster for super 35 R bodies from Canon. I personally am using it with my Canon R7, and really appreciate the ability to have a wider field of view, and most importantly an extra stop of light using EF lenses. It's so nice to have the opportunity to take better advantage of more of the full focal length of so many great EF lenses. I personally love picking up some older EF lenses, because I find they have great character and image rendering, compared to even some of the newer RF ones out there. So, having an affordable speed booster option to be able to get the wider field of view, and an extra stop of light, is a great option to expand the versatility of my R7. Especially when you consider the speed booster from Canon is so expensive, it's nice to have an option that works really well, and has been reliable with its connectivity and compatibility to Canon, at about half the price. The optics are very clean, and I didn't notice any sort of degradation of image quality because of the speed booster. It also works pretty well with the autofocus, and EF lenses that have autofocus. You have a USB-C port for firmware updates. The lens mounting system is a little different, in that you have to turn the ring on the speed booster to lock the lens in place, as opposed to turning the lens which is what I'm normally used to. It's neither good or bad really, it's just different. All in all, the performance to value ratio is very high. It's a great option for people with super 35 sensors, who want to take advantage of the larger field of view offered by EF lenses. I haven't had any hiccups with it so far, and for the price, I'd certainly recommend it.
