Suddenly my trunk would not close on my 2014 Malibu. Tried the "emergency pull" to open or reset the latch but the cable came out of the usual place and just stayed there. Still could not close the trunk.I took the old latch out the next day and as I was trying to get inside of it, I stupidly broke it at the bend.Turns out there's a little sliding door on one side of the flat surfaces (YouTube it). Either way it wouldn't have fixed it, and I needed a new one. I figured for sure this was going to cost me big for my dumbness but found this one on Amazon at a very reasonable price. It arrived the next day, You Tube showed me how to put the emergency pull from the old one into the new one, and then I installed it in a matter of minutes. Well, it still didn't work with the release button or the fob which made me feel that I was not getting "juice" to the new unit. Checked with a multimeter and that was confirmed. Once again back to You Tube. It showed me exactly where and which fuse is for the trunk and how to check it without even pulling the fuse out. I guess when the small motor in the latch goes bad, it will often blow the fuse as was the case in mine. Replaced the fuse and back in business all for under $20 including the 5-amp fuses.Once you know all of this, you can make this repair in under 30 minutes with ease. As for the product itself, it works just as good as the original ever did.

Fits 2014 Chevy Cruze LT Far cheaper than OEM part.You will need 7mm socket and torx bit to install. Lots of push in fasteners. Recommend forked fastener tool.
