First adult story from Leigh Bardugo and I can only say: I hope it’s not her last! I read the Grisha trilogy and the Six of Crows duology but ninth house is something completely new in my opinion. It’s dark, real and raw. Even though there are thousands of storys about magic, I was still surprised how magic as it’s own, and the societies which perform rituals to set it free, are described in the plot.Also, Alex as the main character is just badass and her decisions and behavior seem really realistic, regarding her past and her “gift”.I cannot wait for part two!

**TW: sexual assault, rape, drug abuse, death, gore.**Alex Stern gets a mysterious scholarship at Yale. The catch? She has to monitor the activities of Yale's secret societies, which aren't what they seem, full of sinister activities of the occult. At first, I wasn't sure about reading this book, most of the reviews said it was a very boring book, and couldn't get through it. I understand where these opinions come from, but this book is perfect for you if you like dark academia and urban fantasy. I personally couldn't put this book down, it was such a rollercoaster of emotions. The last few chapters had so many plot twists you won't ever see coming. Leigh Bardugo did it again and wrote my favorite book of the year, I absolutely cannot wait for Alex Stern #2.

Esperaba mucho de esta novela ya tenia comentarios con muchos elogios. Creo que la autora pudo armar una buena historia pero no desarrolló lo suficiente el ambiente y algunos personajes secundarios. Tenía algunas situaciones muy cliché, y el final me decepcionó. Veo que ya hay planes para una serie y creo que eso era a donde apuntaba la escritora.

Me perdí un poco a la mitad de la historia, sentía que no avanzaba mucho pero al final fue bastante ameno.
