This box did an OK job. I got it to cut 45 degree angles in pipe insulation, then naturally a project popped up where I needed to make a couple dozen miter cuts in MDF trim pieces.the saw did an ok job with 45 degree angle cuts, everything came together close enough to fill with spackle/caulk. The box conveniently includes a slot to make 45 degree cuts in two directions. So instead of having to hold a piece in a certain orientation, you can lay it down the other way. I used that a fair bit but got a constant deafening chafing noise while cutting, don't know why as I had the saw in the guide the whole time. The saw it came with seemed pretty cheesy, I think the teeth were catching plastic no matter what I did.This is fine for the occasional light duty project, I was dreaming of a table miter saw after 10 cuts.

I like the ease of use and feel although it’s lightweight stamped plastic. The only reason I returned the item is because it just wasn’t the width and I needed. I needed one that could expand. Looking at the pix I thought it would expand for wider pieces but it does not. It comes to you 4 1/8” wide and cannot be moved in our out, it’s just how it’s built. That said when I need to cut angles on a 2x4 or less I’m in luck because it cuts well with some effort. I’m NOT a woodworker by any means; live and learn. Otherwise it’s a very helpful item.
