I was really impressed by the quality, fit, comfort, and functionality of this backpack- not to mention the aesthetic and design as well.I would say that this bag looks much better than the picture. The color is a very pleasant sage/green and it has a slim profile. At the same time, even though it has a basic main compartment, it has many carefully thought out functions and design choices. The straps are very sturdy and well constructed. They feel comfortable and customized to fit well with women's body proportions. Once buckled in, it feels very comfortable. The straps also come with a built in whistle on the top buckle, so that you can use it in an emergency situation. This is great for hiking and camping. The main compartment doesn't store too much, but is just enough for the day. It is compatible with a hydration pack, which I havne't set up yet but I am looking forward to trying. The main compartment has good divider/organizer pockets inside, and a larger pocket with an elastic top that my laptop even fits into. A water pack could also be stored here. There is a side pocket that is expandable, but my water bottle fit a little awkwardly in it. There's a strap running across that holds the bottle in, but it's quite low on the pocket. At the wrong angle, the bottle might fling out of the pocket if you put it in there.Another great feature of the bag is the elaborate cooling system on the back. It feels very breathable, and I think it will really prevent overheating and a sweaty back during walks and hikes in the summer.Friends have recommended Osprey for a while and now I can see why. I am excited to use more of their backpacks in the future.

My wife and I were just able to go for a weekend hike to try out this pack and she absolutely loves it. She was able to easily adjust the pack to ensure that the weight was evenly distributed and she did not have too much pressure in any one spot, she said that it was very comfortable. There were plenty of spots to stash items while still allowing them to be easily accessible. She was easily able to also fit her sleep system but we do have smaller more compact sleeping bags and pads. We purchased our first Osprey packs 19 years ago and while this pack is a little more expensive you absolutely get what you pay for. It is built very well and should easily last 19 years all over again.

This hiking day pack is definitely a well-designed and functional option for day hikes. It offers plenty of storage space with multiple compartments, making it easy to stay organized while on the trail. I especially appreciate that it can accommodate both a water bladder and has easy-access side pockets for water bottles. This allows for great versatility depending on the hike. The hip belt even has pockets to allow quick and easy access to snacks or other necessities. The build quality is solid, with durable materials and high-quality zippers. The back padding provides a nice balance of cushioning and breathability, keeping it comfortable to wear even on longer hikes. I also really like the adjustable frame, which allows for a more customized fit.The only drawback for me is the price. It’s a bit more expensive than I’d typically spend on a day pack. That said, considering the durability, comfort, and thoughtful design, it feels like a long-term investment rather than something that will need to be replaced quickly.Overall, if you're looking for a high-quality day pack with excellent storage, adjustability, and durability, this one is a great choice!

I feel like these hardly need an Amazon review, given how universally highly reviewed all of Osprey's packs are. If you follow professional gear reviews, or have gone though the process of replacing backpacks trying to find an ideal one, you know Osprey's are a top-notch option. These are five-star packs no matter where you read the reviews. This mid-size 22L Tempest model is a good option for fast/lightweight hiking, and particularly summer hiking where you're less likely to need to be carrying a lot of gear. The "women's" Tempest and "men's" Talon packs are very similar, and I do think gendering them that way can be a bit misleading. While the straps are shaped somewhat differently to account for breasts, the real difference is just how broad the attachment points for the straps are, so a Tempest could be an option for guys with narrower shoulders. (Really, packs are such a personal fit, what works for anyone is, by definition, what is right for them.) The pockets are well-sized, and easily accessible for lightweight hiking. My only issue with Osprey packs is the positioning and angle of the mesh bottle pockets, which (across all of their packs) don't quite strike the right balance of securely holding the bottles and being able to get them out without help. It takes some uncomfortable contortions to reach them. These are, of course, designed for reservoir use, but the difficulty using them with a bottle means they're really more of a 3-season pack. In the winter, when tubing on reservoirs tends to quickly freeze, you need easy access to water without having to take the pack off, or having a partner help. Of course, in the winter you're probably carrying enough other emergency gear that a 22L pack isn't big enough, anyway.Definitely pay attention to the information they give about fitment -- it's a bit of a bold move buying a more technical backpacking pack without being able to try it on, and a pack that doesn't fit properly can turn from uncomfortable to injurious pretty quickly. Read the sizing before ordering, and read their info about how to properly adjust them when you get it.

Exactly as described and more. I like the lightness of this backpack and the fact that it is not huge for my small frame. It also has room for plenty of stuff. I am taking it for a week long trek and carrying everything in it.
