Up until I got this I was using my cheesy plastic rice paddle from my rice maker. I always did like the feel and the construction of it so when I ordered this I was excited to have a more sturdy silicone version of that utensil. I make rice quite frequently. I love the feel in the construction of this utensil the handle is short and very well balanced. I don't have to worry about scratching my non-stick pan I use to make beans and rice with. The handle is not varnished it is a raw wood which I believe makes it more sanitary and easy to clean. I always do worry about flakes of varnish coming off in my food. As you can see from the photo it is a larger size paddle, making it very ideal for serving rice. It looks nice and feels good in the hands.

I was so excited to find this and it arrived quickly and I’m even more impressed in person. We make and eat a lot of rice in our house and I’ve always kind of hated the plastic paddles. This is such an upgrade! I love it!
