This is a set of thick, solid orange and blue buoys. Pumping them up with the included hand pump was a challenge and the pump actually broke on my first attempt. I ended up using a portable inflator and the process went a lot better. In fact, with the portable inflator, they were inflated and ready to go in no time. They seem well built, made of thick, durable materials. It's been too cold to get them in the water but we will do that soon.

We've got much larger Taylormade fenders for a bigger boat and they use the "pierce" style fill tool. You can stab the needle through the fill valve and inflate the bumper with one person. Unfortunately these smaller bumpers require 2 people. One person to hold the ball and the plastic fill tool into the fill valve and the other to operate the pump. Then once the ball is starting to near a full fill you remove the nozzle end and quickly insert the plug. I'm not a very big fan of this design and if we had to deflate these for storage (which we won't) it would be a deal breaker. These are going to be used at the dock for a mooring ball and won't need to be deflated / inflated on a any regular basis. If you are planning on deflating these for storage and then inflating them for a day at the lake... go find a better a design that doesn't require 4 hands to inflate.

Ordered these Better Boat - Boat Bumpers for Docking Boat Fenders Boat Mooring Buoys for my Father to use this summer with his boat on the lake. They are thick high quality rubber, but I had some issues with them. These came in a thick branded box from the manufacturer with product information and a warranty and issues card. I'm sure for the issues below I could have contacted them and requested a remedy but as a vine reviewer I try to avoid any direct contact with sellers. The included inflating pump did not have the stem attached to the pump, it would just pop out and I could not get it to work. I used a bicycle pump with a inflator attachment to fill these to pressure. One of the two had an issue with the valve on the inflator stem not stopping the air from escaping, but it now appears to be holding with the plug back in. So some minor quality control issues on the overall set.Still giving the product a 4 star review because the branding is good, rubber is very thick and stable and I like them a lot.

In Minnesota, most boat owners usually use long white cylinder type bumpers for their boats. These are a new spin for me. I like them, however, the shape seems to be off a bit. In my opinion, these 9-inch buoys are more appropriate for oceans or lakes with very large waves. The kit came with two bumpers and a pump. It took some time to attach the pump properly and inflate the bumpers. It required a bit of finesse, but it worked out eventually. The only thing I'm not a fan of are the colors. I wish they had come in all black or all white. Despite that, these bumpers are effective in protecting your boat and preventing it from colliding with other objects. You just need to make sure that you align them at the right height since they're spherical vs. cylindrical. They're well-built, super rugged and I'm confident they'll stand the test of time but they're not the best for my needs.
