Does what it needs to do. Make sure you adjust the food outlet amount that is despensed. Seems to be some of the bad reviews on this, I think they just didn't know how to use it!I would recommend, I use it for vacation!

This feeder can't put out a moderate amount of food. It can put out either a very small amount (for one micro fish) or a very large amount (for 50 fish at once), but not in between. Useless piece of plastic!

Easy to set up. like the way it works it is simple. selector for 12 or 24 hours feedings doesn't say when the feedings occur. But it works manually, and I am sure it will operate as promised, just don't know when yet. Ha ha. **update I found it when you hit manual or install batteries the cycle starts.

requires placement which may require the aquarium lid to be left open about 1/2 in. which in my case allowed two of my fish to jump out. Otherwise it is a good option. Be sure you test it before final placement because you may wish to adjust the amount of food released each time. Also, whether you choose once or twice a day feeding, the testing will begin the timing schedule.

Bought this for the 2 Oscars we have at work. You cannot beat the price. You must put food in and adjust the opening to see how much food will be dispersed. I did this several times to get the amount of food desired. It has a 12 hour and 24 hours setting on it. I am using tiny pellet fish food. We did tape it to the glass instead of using the fish clasp because of the way our tank is set up inside a wood cabinet encloser and it still works fine.
