Review for PChero Smart Bike Helmet for Adults - Bicycle Helmet with DIY LED Display Tail Light & Turn Signals for Men Women, Mountain Bike Helmet for Road Bike, E-Bike, Scooter, Skateboard (Remote/APP Control)Part of the reason to get this bike helmet over a cheaper one without the LED signals and visibility options is safety to let other people, primarily car drivers know what your intentions are.The signals from the control only go on for about 5 seconds before defaulting to the helmet's last used pattern OR the pattern you select once in your app. BE AWARE if you don't install the app and select a 'useful' pattern it will randomize to anything from stupid eyes to saying LOVE none of those are useful, decorative sure but when the signaling ends after 5 seconds and you are on a bike stuck at a light or in traffic this will default to a useless pattern that no longer tells anyone what your intention was when you selected Left or Right as your turn choice.Even more useless are the 'up and down' buttons as they too just go to a random, probably the last or default selection you were on. Riding your bike these buttons are useless as you the rider won't know what you are 'telling people' on your helmet. The only thing you can rely on are left and right turn signals for 5 freaking seconds and STOP for 5 seconds. Everything else is about style and randomness. For the cost of this helmet I'd suggest you get a taillight with signaling options that won't default to useless patterns and you don't need to install a stupid app just to default to a mildly less useless pattern. On connecting it to my iphone it didn't want to connect telling me I had to do so, I went through several settings and restarts before it finally connected and I could choose a 'neutral' pattern for the default, that is to avoid having something like stupid eyes or love being displayed after the 5 seconds were over and I chose left/right/stop.There's no reason to install an app for that reason, if you want to make your own patterns/logos etc yeah sure it makes sense but to choose a useful patter, I picked collapsing rectangles as it wast he best they had for a default, then yeah it makes sense to install their app and make a pattern/sign. Otherwise it is pointless except to collect data on installs and users.I do not recommend this helmet, buy a tail light with a remote you can select left/right and maybe stop and then get a regular helmet there's no reason for the cost and annoying setup of this helmet. The manual is sparse and in several languages making it really rather useless.I'll edit this review if the electronics fail, but likely I won't even use them and take my own advice and use a separate signaling taillight over using the electronics on this for 5 literal seconds before they default to a useless pattern.

I really like the helmet, it is comfortable and adjusts easily. The LED screen is outdated but bright enough and functions nicely, however I did not like the app you must download in order to change the icons. The available app icons mostly stink except for a couple. It comes with some preloaded icons, but like I said not so great, I really don't want to be riding with the word LOVE and hearts flashing. The preloaded left, right turn and stop icons are descent so all in all I like. I would like to see a larger selection of available icons, and the cheesy ones removed.

This helmet is a comfortable, functional, and very attractive bike helmet. It is first and foremost a protective helmet. If it didn't do that well the rest of the functions wouldn't matter. It comes with a nice little storage/carry bag to keep the helmet in to protect it. The color display in back is a neat innovation that you don't see every day. I got it primarily for the turn signal and stop sign functions on the back of the helmet. This is a great supplement to hand signals, especially in dimmer light. The small controller that selects the signal or message can attach to the handle bars for easy reach. The scrolling pictures that you can also put up are ok, but not my primary need. The phone app that pairs with the helmet will let you edit or create new content for display, but I am not into it at this time. I can see someone creating custom messages for display (advertising, name, event name, etc.). It would be easier though, if you could do it on a laptop and then upload. This helmet is more expensive than a conventional bike helmet, but if you added the cost of a set of external signals or display it would probably be about the same.

The PChero Smart Bike Helmet for Adults combines a bike helmet and an LED signaling/display panel. It is a good bicycle helmet, with all the normal features one would expect, such as multiple vents, internal padding, and adjustable, dial controlled fit. I got it mainly for the display, but I have found it to be more comfortable than my old helmet. I like that the maximum size adjustment is greater than with most other helmets I have tried, so it fits me comfortably since my head is slightly too large for most other helmets. The display is the most interesting feature of the helmet, though. It has the ability to display turn and stop signals on the back of the helmet, as well as a variety of other images and emojis. In the default mode, the display shows a random assortment of images in sequence, such as eye balls, hearts, and the word love. The helmet also comes with a remote with pushbuttons for left and right turn and stop indicators. However, as one other reviewer pointed out, the turn and stop indicators only display for five seconds before the display reverts to the random images. That makes the remote fairly useless for anyone who wants to use it for the turn and stop indicators. However, the phone app offers more useful features. The phone app has a button for Cycling that allows a rider to actuate the turn and stop indicators, as well as caution and three other displays. The problem is that the turn and stop indicators only stay on for five seconds, just as with the remote. If this were the only option, the phone app would be of as limited use as the remote. However, the app also has a One Click Execution button, and it offers the best functionality the helmet has. I programmed four buttons for one click execution (Caution, Stop, Left, Right). The attached photo shows my screen with the four buttons displayed. Each turns on the associated display until another button is pushed. In normal riding I activate the Caution button, which turns on a display of three red caution triangles. When I want to turn, I use either the Left or Right button, which turn on a series of moving arrows in the selected direction. After I turn, I push the Caution button again. I use the Same sequence with the Stop button. Programming the buttons took about five to ten minutes, and I find the app more useful than the remote since I can easily access my phone in its holder, while there is no easy way to mount the remote to use it. I like using the buttons this way because any timed mode would not fit all situations, and there is no way to have a self canceling turn signal on a bicycle.I am torn between giving this helmet four and five stars. The limited functionality of the remote and the pre-programmed Cycling function on the app makes me want to give the helmet four stars, but the ease of programming the app and the quality of the helmet makes me lean toward five stars. In the end, I give the helmet five stars because it works exactly as I like with only minimal effort to program it. For any users who want to use it in the way I do and are willing to spend a minor amount of effort programming it, the PChero Smart Bike Helmet for Adults is a great choice. Anyone who wants the display to useful right out of the box, on the other hand, will likely be disappointed. I give the helmet five stars for overall quality and versatility.

This is a well made helmet. it has been dropped a couple times and it has not dented at all.It has a very bright screen along the back that you can put different pictures or words. There is also a remote that you can attach to your handle bars to use turn signals and the stop sign on the back.It is secure and it fits well. This is great to have for your safety out on the road.
