It was only a few weeks ago that I learned that you can't just squeeze all modern brake pistons with a c-clamp to move the piston back. You have to twist them also. So I got this tool which does both. It's much less cumbersome than a c-clamp - you just shove the threaded bolt into place and then slot the fake brake pad over it (see photo) and then use the handle to advance the bolt. Or if it's tough, put a wrench around the bolt. Then you can insert the pins into the piston and rotate it too - this Honda didn't need that though.Still, it looks like it's going to work a treat on my Ford Edge.Good value and handy tool!

I was doing the brakes on my Mazda 3 (brakes made by Ford) and this did not fit (even though it was explicitly listed as fitting). It only comes with one adapter plate, so if you don’t get lucky it’s useless. I ended up going to buy a replacement elsewhere. That said, it seems decently well made and finished, even though the instructions are very small and hard to read. You pays your money, you takes your chances with this one. Save a few bucks but it’s potentially useless.
