The car cover I purchased was not shipped with any type of straps by which the cover could be secured. So, I used the straps from a car cover that had become ineffective over time. These lock grip clamps allowed me to secure the car cover very effectively once the appropriate configuration had been established. When properly utilized, these clamps have been 100% effective in keeping the car cover secure during the windiest of days in this region. The clamps have not damaged the cover while providing a steadfastly secure hold...100% of the time.My application only requires 6 of the 12 clamps provided in this purchase. So, when I haphazardly unscrewed the clip, and lost the part that screws into the clamp; there was another one ready to be utilized. There are similar devices that use a sliding piece to secure the clamp to the tarp, cover, or what have you. I prefer the screw type because it allows you to determine the amount of pressure required to adequately secure the clamp...and, as such, you only need one hand to secure the clamp once it's in place.I am completely satisfied with this purchase.

What a ingenious idea. These are great clips. Very smart design. I believe that the tarp will tear before the clip fails. Thumb screw is nice and wide ease of tighten. Most size tent stakes should fit in holes for grounding.

I have been planting greens in my greenhouse for about four years. The plastic is getting brittle and torn from the wind blowing it around. I tried grommets and line, but it tore through the plastic and the grommets were also not very well made. I found these while searching for something else on Amazon, and figured they might do the trick. I've had them installed for two weeks now. We've had rain the last ten days, and there was enough wind, there was a house that blew by with a girl and a small dog, but these clamps held. 50-65 km/h gusts this past weekend and they held well. Hole was plenty large enough for paracord and the jaws of these clamps held the plastic tightly. They seem well made, but I cannot speak to this time to their longevity/durability. Now I have to go deal with that witch under the house now...
