The extra length and width of the ramp made a great difference for my Great Pyrenees using the ramp with confidence. She has a weakened back leg so even if her leg gives out, she is still safely on the ramp. The previous ramp was narrow and steeper; so when her leg gave out, she fell off the ramp. I like the clamp that secures the ramp to the car. It is also non slip which adds to my dog's confidence to use the ramp. It is easy to unfold and setup. It weighs a bit more than the previous ramp, but that is expected because of the extra length, width and sturdiness. My only complaint is that the edges of the folded sections are a bit sharp. I am careful to not let them poke my car upholstery. I put duck tape on the corners just to be sure they don't do damage.

I am so absolutely tickled with this ramp. I have been on the search for years for a sturdy ramp to support a larger breed dog. Most of them are either for medium sized dogs or are more cumbersome for me to handle solo. I have a 60 lb. whippet/hound mix (imagine a little smaller stockier greyhound). He's older now where his vision is a little off. I had to find something like this because I can lift him in the car but getting him out is another story. He slipped a couple of times and with his age I didn't want to risk him. This little ramp is sturdy, lightweight enough for me to move on my own (I'm a woman FYI), and easy to set-up/break down. I keep this in the back of my SUV, and once I have it setup, I will lower the backseat and bring him toward it. It's much easier to lure him with a doggie treat, which works like a charm. The upper portion of the ramp has a carabiner to hook onto the metal loop that your trunk clips into when shut. It made really well with little rubber feet to give a little more security, so it doesn't bounce or shit when he's walking down it. Although this is a sturdy unit, I wouldn't be comfortable not hooking it to the car as he's coming down due to his weight. I also wouldn't want to use this from a car door access. Again, with a heavier dog, I'd prefer the security of it connected properly to prevent it slipping. This folds up really easy. It's in 4-parts, 2-fold together on one side, then 2-fold together on the other, and then those halves fold together. I really think it helps with the maneuverability. As I said it's sturdy, but not super heavy to move when fully collapsed. I can lift it in and out of my car without much effort. If you're looking for a sturdy ramp for a larger breed dog that you can actually move without a crane, you can't go wrong with this one.

Bought this for my 85 pound puppy who has already developed hip trouble and can't jump into the SUV on his own any more. First, be cautioned that this ramp is pretty dang heavy so look at the weight in the product description and consider when purchasing. Having said that, there is a reason that's it's kinda heavy. It's VERY sturdy. Stick to the weight rating and you should never have an issue with it.Also, the walking surface is just about right. It seems it would be comfortable to walk on with enough grip to prevent slippage. And the last thing you would want is for you already compromised pooch to slip and fall. Always keep a hand on your pup's harness going up and down the ramp just in case.Unfortunately, my dog is terrified of it so I ended up having to lift him in and out anyhow. Not a shock since he's hesitant of open staircases. But no fault of the ramp whatsoever. This is a good one.

Very handy sturdy ramp. Let's get into the details:Pros:- A++ customer service and warranty. The product comes with a card which details that the seller will quickly and painlessly assist in event of a purchase issue or even if something goes wrong with the ramp within 1 year. Reassuring to know the product is covered and the seller is very helpful- Super sturdy for large dogs, doesn't make any unpleasant squeaking noises, and wide path- Folds down for easy storage, and reasonable weight so its not too heavy for most people to set upCons:- The runway is done in this fabric material which, while textured for grip will likely get dirty with use. At least half the time I use this it will involve dirty paws so I feel like it will get dirty quickly, and it folds with the top of the runway out, so that dirt will transfer inside my car- As soon as I opened this for the first time, I had smashed one of the plastic buckles intended of keeping the folded ramp shut. This is because its designed to thread the buckles through the gaps in the hinges, which is very vulnerable. My least favorite aspect of the design. In general it is a pinch risk for your fingers- This thing is huge - more than 6", so if you are parallel parked you need to have almost half a car's length of space behind your car in order for the ramp to fit in full lengthAll in all a very sturdy and hefty product!

This seems well built and good for it's intended purpose. It comes with a clip to attach it to the trunk latch and prevent it from falling down. It also has a built-in, padded carrying handle. It is about 20 pounds, so not totally light, but not overly heavy either. The hinges and inner frame appear to be steel, while the side rails are aluminum. The fabric top seems quite durable, but time will tell. There is a bit of flex to it if you push down, but unless you have a dog that is near the max capacity of the ramp, it probably won't move when your pet is on it. The end of the ramp that leans against the car has foam padding on the underside to prevent scratches. My only small complaint is that the latch that holds it closed is a bit fiddly as the straps are elastic and just barely long enough. That said, if you are going to mostly leave it in your trunk, you don't even need the closure strap. Time well tell how it holds up, but it looks like it will last a long time.
