A gift for an airframe specialist, the aircraft pen was a spur of the moment purchase by a friend, but with happiness I can report it appears it shall be cherished forever. I am well pleased with the quality and smoothness that the pen writes. The only downside to the pen was that it is not retractable. The pen was of such high quality that the new owner has decided to keep it in a more secure place rather than with the tools of the trade. In one word, pleased, may summarize the purchase on both sides of the gift.

The brass body makes this pen look elegant compared to other Retro 51s that are fully painted.The pen is thick and has some weight to it. It feels sturdy and well made. The twist mechanism is smooth. The clip is very tight compared to other pen clips, but it still slides onto book and into pockets well because of the hooked design.The ink that comes with the pen is a Schmidt gel refill. It is very smooth and very black, but it feathers slightly on bad (not the same as cheap!) paper. I replaced the ink cartridge with a Fisher Space refill (same as a Parker G2 with the included converter). It fits perfectly.

Es una pluma muy bonita y con muy buena tinta. Sin embargo al primer día de uso, se le cayó la calcomanía que trae en parte posterior. Únicamente venía medio pegada y se me extravió esa calcomanía.
