I ran in the Guide 16 for years, which I'd purchased at my local running store. The Guide 17 is the same fit, and just as comfortable, and supportive as the Guide 16, and I was able to run in the shoes straight out of the box. These are my one-and-only designated running shoe, and I don't use them for everyday wear, just running.

Arch support was not to my liking- it dug into my foot. So I got a sheepskin lining and that helped ease the discomfort and also lifted my ankle enough to alleviate the rubbing I experienced from the high sides. They work well for my step class. I bounce when I walk in them because the soles are high and thick!
