For our Christmas lights we have one set with a multi-function controller that is not rated for being outside in "weather." I wanted to be able to leave it out in rain, so I needed to protect the unit. I got a large enough (1.25") VPC conduit body and wanted to cap the ends with small holes for the power and light cables. The ID of the conduit holes was right about 1.7"...an odd size. I got these because they claimed to fit a range of sizes...and they did. The flexible flanges made this a very nice fit. I drilled center holes, cut partway through to allow the cable to slide into the hole and then close and this works like a charm.

I have a Honda Pioneer 1000-5 where the cap plugs kept coming out of the front and rear bumpers; and the front one finally just got lost.Since I couldn't find any parts specifically tagged as replacements on the Honda, I took a chance and ordered these based on the measurements of my bumper. Fortunately, they fit perfectly - they're very tight and I doubt they'll come out again.Before installing these plugs, I used some rust inhibitor to spray into the open tube, then I used a rubber mallet to tap the plugs into place.Overall, I'm very happy with the result.As a side note, the outer diameter of the tube on my bumper is 1 3/4" and the inner diameter is 1 9/16".I highly recommend these plugs.
