Wasted my time and money buying this very thin tarp. When it says 6 x 8‘ it should be 6 x 8‘ and as you can see by the measurements, it’s clearly not. It will be returned.

I wouldn’t call this 12 mil tarp “heavy duty” but…The big box stores now sell junk as thin as 4 mil, advertise their 8-10 mil tarps as heavy duty, and refer to their 15-16 mil products as extra heavy duty, and some don’t have cord reinforced edges, but that’s a change from just a few years ago.I would call this tarp medium weight. It does have plastic reinforcement under the corner grommets and cord reinforced edges (which many thicker products don’t), but the material is thin enough that it could tear in severe weather or if you use it to haul leaves like I do. The edges are heat fused, not stitched, which is a plus and should prevent fraying. The aluminum grommets are wide so they shouldn’t pop out easily, but the material thickness also plays a role in how well the grommets hold.It does fold into a nice compact space so it is easy to store.Overall, it is priced on the high side for its thickness. This company also makes a 16 mil tarp, and as I was looking for something heavy duty, I should have gotten that instead.

I used this tarp to cover up some equipment and keep it out of the weather. The grommets are reinforced and the tarp seems fairly strong. The dark color should limit UV damage over time.So far I'm happy with its performance. Only time will tell how it holds up in the long term.
