Was watertight from the getgo. No need to rinse it off before diving in. Was clear and fog free. This is my second full face mask and I found it to be an improvement over previous designs.

A lot of reviews said snorkel was hard to remove. And, it doesn't just slip off. But, I was able to put mine on and take it back off (after pushing a little tab) easy enough. Why the difference from what others have said? It seems like the manufacturer has made a tiny change. The mask part on which you slip the snorkel used to have two o-rings on it. The video that's provided at the bottom of their Amazon listing shows it with two o-rings. And, there's still space for two. But, it seems they are now just shipping the mask with one o-ring in place. AND, it comes with two spare o-rings in a little package (that also includes the optional GoPro mount). The manufacturer's website says you only need the one o-ring. And it says that while two would make for an even better seal, two would make the snorkel harder to remove. So, now that it ships with one, that's what I got, and after pressing the little tab at the bottom of the snorkel, it slid off smoothly with a moderate amount of effort. What about that "short" snorkel comment in the title? From the pictures and my familiarity with classic snorkels, I figured air would come in at the very top of the snorkel. But, having now received it, it seems like the top part of the snorkel is just colorful decoration. The air comes in the upper-middle part of the SIDE of the snorkel. It seems to me that design makes the overall contraption pretty darn short -- your head needs to be much nearer the surface of the water for air to go in.All of the above was written BEFORE I have even tried the snorkel. I'm assuming all will work fine as others have said. But, since I hadn't read anywhere else about the one o-ring vs. two and the snorkel being, in fact, relatively easy to remove, I thought I'd go ahead and post this.

Medium size is a good fit for an average adult face. Minor leaks may happen through the rubber seal around the face but not likely through the snorkel which prevents water leaks most effectively when you dive. The "glass" does not get foggy so visibility is always good. This mask is pretty massive. This creates few minor changess. 1. When you travel this mask will require a fair amount of room in your suitcase. 2. Due to it's size/the air within it, the mask makes it more difficult to dive (you'remore buoyant), so using some sort of weight may help with the diving experience.Overall I feel like I got a good product for the money I spent
