Works well. Though the brim isn’t huge, it still serves its purpose. The tie is nice to keep it snug and the snaps are nice if you want to change the style. The material protects from wind, rain, and sun. Comfortable and solid. Fits adult male without being too tight.

This sun hat has a wide brim providing excellent sun protection, making it perfect for outdoor activities like fishing, hiking, and golfing. I especially appreciate the waterproof feature, which has come in handy during unexpected light rain while out on the trail. The lightweight material makes it comfortable to wear for extended periods without feeling weighed down.The packable design is another fantastic aspect of this hat. I can easily toss it in my backpack without worrying about it losing shape or getting damaged. It’s incredibly convenient for travel, as it takes up minimal space while still providing the coverage I need when I’m outdoors. The adjustable chin strap is also a great feature, ensuring that the hat stays securely in place, even on windy days.However, I did encounter a couple of minor issues. while its advertised size is great for those of us with larger heads, I found that the fit was a bit loose on me. An additional adjustment option would be beneficial for a more personalized fit. Also, although the hat does a good job of blocking sunlight, I wish the brim was slightly stiffer to provide even better sun coverage.In summary, this bucket sun hat offers excellent sun protection and is perfect for various outdoor activities. With its lightweight, waterproof design and packable convenience, it’s a solid addition to my gear, except for the fit and brim stiffness but would still recommend it to anyone in need of a reliable sun hat for outdoor adventures!

These days, at 68 years old my dermatologist is always telling me to wear a hat, so I ordered another one for my ever-going collection and balding head. This will be another fishing hat or one to wear while doing yard work. The snap-up sides are nice and it's waterproof with a chin strap if I want to let it dangle around my neck off my back. There is an adjustable drawstring to keep it snug on the noggin. When I'm finished wearing it there is a smaller loop on the brim to hang it up.

It's made of the same (or similar) stuff as the "soft shell" or "technical" jackets. Has a "thick" feeling to it. It's waterproof, and it'll provide some warmth - it will also accommodate oversized noggins like mine (but don't worry, it adjusts down). This is a great hat for kayaking - has a chin strap to prevent it getting lost, and won't get waterlogged.I love that the chin strap is removable - I cut the straps off of most of my hats for safety and to avoid tangles - but kayaking is one activity I want to be able to cinch it down - this hat works both ways.The only downside to this hat - if there is one - is that you're not going to soak it in water to keep cool - it's just not going to absorb water like, say, a cotton hat, because, you know, it being waterproof and all.
