I replaced my original hood after dropping my camera/lens and breaking the original. Fortunately, the original hood took all of the damage, so my lens was saved. The replacement fits perfectly.

I, like most of the other reviewers here had the mis-fortune of dropping the hood and breaking it. If you're reading this, I suspect you are in the same boat, bummer for sure. I still remember the sound made as it bounced on the floor. Rest assured this is a perfect replacement for the original. Someone mentioned this does not lock in as well as the original, I found the opposite, it fits better. Perhaps batches all are a little different.It's genuine and at the time of the writing much cheaper than the usual other online photo stores I usually visit so that is a win.
