I gave this product 4 stars mainly due to the inaccurate labeling. It’s marketed as a “gold melting furnace,” but that’s misleading — the maximum operating temperature is 999°C, while the melting point of copper is 1083°C and gold is 1063°C. So, it can’t actually melt either of those metals. That said, it’s perfectly suitable for my needs since I primarily melt aluminum, which has a much lower melting point (around 660°C), and this furnace handles that with no issues. It heats up within the hour, which is pretty reasonable — especially for an electric furnace. Not bad at all considering it runs on household power. Once it reaches temperature, it holds heat consistently, and it’s worked great for melting down soda cans and small aluminum scrap. The compact design is another big plus. It doesn’t take up much room, making it easy to store, and the build quality feels solid — not flimsy or cheaply made. The setup process was simple, and everything needed to get started came in the box.Pros:• Heats quickly and handles aluminum with ease• Very user-friendly—great for first-time users• Compact and lightweight, excellent for storage• Feels well-built and durable• Affordable for what it offersCons:• Cannot reach high enough temperatures for gold or copper• Misleading product label and description• May frustrate advanced users expecting more powerOverall, this is a great entry-level furnace for hobbyists looking to work with lower-melting-point metals like aluminum. If the description were more accurate about its capabilities, it would easily be a 5-star product. Just be sure it matches the temperature requirements for the metals you plan to work with

This is a complete package for melting some non ferrous metals..It's advertised primarily for aluminum, but can handle copper, silver, bronze and even gold. It's a powerful and efficient tool designed for serious metalworkers.I ordered it primarily for melting then making lead ingots.Over the years I have accumulated numerous old car and marine batteries with the intention of reclaiming the lead. This melting furnace fromTOAUTO is exactly what is needed – and more! With a robust 1800W electric heating system and a max temperature of 999°C, it can melt aluminum in just over an hour. It has a large 8KG capacity, while the smart PID temperature control ensures consistent, precise results across metals such as aluminum or copper. Built with durable stainless steel, ceramic insulation, and safety features like a secure lid and sturdy handles, it’s both safe and energy-efficient. The included complete kit has user-friendly digital controls making it suitable for both beginners and professionals... but I have been warned to use a pair of more serious long-sleeved gloves when handling molten metals... and to work only outdoors. This melter is also ideal for casting. Now I can explore making molds and melting aluminum for casting objects. This furnace delivers industrial-grade performance in a compact package for home use.

We bought this to try our hand at melting our own scrap metal down. It's a very solid unit and came very well packaged so nothing moved around in transit and was very well protected. Comes with everything you need to get started. We were able to get some metal on the way to being melted very quickly. It's now become a fun family activity. We are very encouraged by the high quality of this brand and we are confident it will last us many years.

This thig is really really cool. I plan on using my 3d printer with this to make aluminum casts. It heated up fast and melted the scrap aluminum i had laying around fast. Comes with everything you need to melt. Check the picture out 2 blocks in a matter of hrs. Great product if your into this type of DIY stuff.

I will admit that I had my doubts about this, being an electric furnace rather than a propane or similar gas fired kiln. Well, I was wrong -- it worked great! It was well-packaged and easy to set up. The included crucible is bigger than many, but don't assume you're going to cram 6kg or 12+ pounds of metal in this thing -- you're not! That's a typical overstatement, but the crucible is still large enough to hold a meaningful amount of metal. This only runs up to 1000C, so make sure you now the melting temperature of the metal you are trying to melt. It won't work on a lot of things. My goal was one of the easiest -- aluminum -- and it worked great. I preheated the crucible as directed, then loaded it. Because this is electric, there is a significant wait. I think 950C was the highest temperature setting I used, and it took a good half-hour to get that hot. Once it reached temperature, though, it held it surprisingly well -- even as I continued adding material to melt. The furnace steadily drew 1.8kva electric load, so make sure you use a THICK extension cord and an adequate plug. (If you have other appliances on the same circuit running at the same time, you're likely to trip your breaker. By itself, this thing will basically max out a 15A 110v breaker / circuit.)Our first project involved melting down about 150 typical 12oz soda cans. It was at least thirty minutes before the first six or eight cans in the crucible began to melt. Once they did, we added more material (be cautious!), and then kept adding more material. Once you have a pool of liquid metal, the temperature transfers more efficiently and the added cans melt faster than the initial ones. If you have done this before, you know that aluminum cans create a huge amount of waste that is not pure aluminum -- the dross / slag is mostly aluminum oxide, and it's junk. You'll want a good stainless steel spoon to periodically scoop the trash off the top of the melted metal and discard it.In the end, our yield from 150-160 cans was about half useful aluminum and half dross. You've probably seen this done on the internet -- we poured it down a fire ant mount to cast the tunnel structure beneath. There were a lot of rocks in the soil that were captured by the metal pour. We flipped it upside-down and it's a sort of "sculpture" that makes an interesting conversation piece on the bookshelves.Overall, this kiln/furnace is a great tool to melt down aluminum for various projects as long as you are in a location with an adequate electric supply. Make sure you read the warnings and watch some videos about safety, because liquid metal is no joke. Handled correctly, it can be a fun family project.
