What I needed was more of a coupler than a filter, but I figured the filter was a plus because getting that dryer vent professionally snaked out is a pain.I assumed from the pics that this was plastic. It is not - it is all-metal. That's very good for temperature tolerance and maybe durability, but it means that the unit is much heavier than I was expecting. That means I can't simply connect it in-line and hang it by the clamps. This needs to be screwed to the wall (and anchored).Something else I'm not sure about is how much resistance this adds to the airflow. It seems to me that HVAC system design account for this (in newtons? optimal volume/minute?). This might be a useful in the specifications - but I am definitely not an appliance professional. I just don't want to create a problem.

Okay, this is a metal lint trap, not a cheap plastic one, and it just shows quality at every turn. The door that allows access to the filters is solid, fits tightly but opens and closes easily, and has a real latch that you can tell is open or closed at a glance. There is a real glass window in the door so you can clearly see the condition of the two filters without removing them first. The door makes cleaning the good cleanable filters and reinstalling them easy. This has a nice quality finish, and looks great, not like an afterthought, but like a designed in piece. The included hose is just as good quality, is much better made than 90% of them on the market, and has insulating function. This trap works so well, and it captures a lot more of the lint than my old ones, (I have two), so it must filter well. The installation was easy, and even the included fasteners are of above average quality. This lint trap does not have a door that redirects the filtered air into the room in the winter, so if you want that you can remove the exit hose in the winter, or put an inline 4" diverter in after the lint trap. I think this is a really good, possibly even the best lint trap you can buy, is well worth it's asking price, as you will never need another one, and I can absolutely recommend it. 5 Stars!

As a new homeowner, I want to do whatever I can to prevent expensive issues from coming up, so this seemed like a really good addition to our dryer line.Really solid build quality on the product, and the included mesh screens appear to be doing their job!

I recently decided to rearrange my laundry room, which required extending my already lengthy venting system. After doing some research, I opted to install this secondary lint box to help prevent lint buildup. The installation process was quite straightforward. I mounted the lint box on the wall in an easily accessible location, making it simple to empty. It includes two aluminum hoses with their respective attachments. The dual-screen design features one screen that captures small lint particles and another that catches larger ones. The unit as a whole is made from metal which is better than some of the plastic ones that are on the market. The door opens easily with a latch; however, it isn't very snug and feels somewhat wobbly. I have concerns about the lint box's sealing, as the metal door lacks a proper sealing mechanism, such as a rubber gasket, resulting in some air being expelled around the door. Given my long venting system, I'm worried that this loss of airflow might impact efficiency. While it seems to be working fine, it's kind of difficult to assess its overall performance. It’s instructed to clean the lint trap every four to five loads, which seems to be working well.
