We have a back deck leading to an above ground pool. It's almost 20 years old. It needs replaced, but we are now retired and have to watch our pennies. We're in Oklahoma, so our summers usually get into the triple digits. The wood gets hot on the bare feet traveling from the house to the pool. All that being said, we wanted some runners on the lower part if the deck that is exposed all day. These looked perfect so we bought 2 of them. The reason I gave 3 stars is because I think these get hotter than the bare wood. We also have an outdoor rug on another part of the deck (also exposed to the sun all day). That rug doesn't get hot like these do. The part of the deck by the pool, is long so we needed the 16 ft. Economically these made more sense than several "rugs", which is why we went this route for the lower, longer part of the deck.If you are wanting to use them on an area that isn't directly exposed to the summer sun all day, they are good solid mats. Just assumed, since they can also be used outside, that they would be made out of a material that is resistant to the sun's heat. Unfortunately that's not the case.

It seem like it was going to be durable since it had good reviews but once we had it outside on our 103 degree weather here in AZ, it did not last over a week it completely tear up, started to crumble and even became apart. I understand the heat can do damage but within a week it was gone. The price paid made me believe it would last but make no mistake again. Do not recommend.

I cut this mat to fit my bathroom which was easy to do with sharp scissors. When not in use I roll it up and store it away. It’s a bit heavy given it’s made of vinyl but you don’t have to be a weight lifter to move around. We roll this mat out when we have pool parties. It keeps people from slipping on our tile floor and we mop up the water afterwards. It has a low profile that allows us to open doors without it getting caught on the mat too which is great.

I made the mistake of installing a slate floor around my pool. The slate was flaking and falling into the water. I painted the stone, but the paint was scratching off. I bought a bunch of these to lay down and protect the floor and paint. They work great. Easy to cut. I recommend overlapping them a bit. Unfortunately I learned that trick after cutting a bunch. These are doing a good job protecting my pool floor and now it isn’t slippery.
