My 3.7kw spindle would take forever to stop and was a real pain every tool change, not only did it reduce the stop time by 70% it also kept my vfd from faulting out every time my program stopped my spindle from the excess voltage generated from the spindle spinning and back feeding to the vfd.

Made with quality materials doesn’t feel like they use crap metal

This resistor works well for precharging large input capacitors in equipment before connection to large battery. It minimizes sparking damage and limits inrush current. It also makes a good load resistor for braking motor controllers. The wires are sleeved and ring terminated. The heat sink has pretty sharp edges. I recommend deburring or filing them before you cut yourself on them.

Resistance value measures as expected but I have not tried to put continuous 300W into it yet. I have tested it with my 2HP VFD and it works fine so far. Some sharp edges on the aluminum extrusion, so watch out when you're mounting it.

This is a reasonably priced, fully potted, wire wound 10Ω resistor, capable of handling 500 Watts, sealed into an aluminum housing and terminated in two high-temperature wires, each about 15” (38cm) long. With slanted ends, the aluminum case, ribbed for cooling on the top and bottom, leaves space for 2 mounting slots at the ends about 10" (25.4cm) apart. The slots are a bit narrow at just .215” (5.45mm) wide and will likely need to be widened to, at least, accept some ¼” x 20 or 6mm X 1mm bolts to safely mount such a heavy 1.71lb. (171g) device, especially on vibrating equipment.I found the resistance to measure within the advertised ±5% specification.I am using this resistor as a dummy load for amplifier output testing and for load testing 12- and 24-volt storage batteries. Like all passive resistors, I expect the value to increase as the resistor heats up, but I do not expect this variation to have much effect on my measurements, as long as I take it into account in the formula.
