These connectors give a nice straight connection when you join the wires. The little screws hold tight into the solid copper wire. We needed to add an extension because hubby cut the wire too short. The connectors work well, the shrink wrap seems a bit large so we put a smaller diameter piece of shrink wrap then used the supplied shrink wrap over that. All nice and secure and no chance of any wire touching in the confined space. Quick solution to fixing our wiring.

I purchased these to extend the length of 10-gauge solid wire that was too short. I hate it when the builder does not leave enough wire so I can get the receptacle out far enough to easily replace it! These solve the problem.I would like to have seen the heat shrink tubing be slightly smaller in diameter and shrink tighter to the wire. The tubing was of sufficient length.The set screws were the correct size and tightened well with a small "bite" into the solid copper wire. I am not sure that they would work as well with stranded wire.I would purchase more as I need them.
