I'm not a huge fan of paper napkins in the kitchen, but I do use them for decoupage, paper crafts and lining small boxes and trays, and these are stellar. The color is perfect, the designs are crisp and the paper itself is the perfect weight for gluing down with Modge Podge. And they're circles! Somehow that makes them five times as fun as boring old rectangular napkins. I love trimming and layering the scalloped edges for some dimension on the page, and the center design is ideal for Spode china inspired backgrounds. These arrive folded and heavily creased, so you might have to iron them to get a full flat circle for tablescaping, but the creases aren't noticeable if you're gluing them to something. To help with smoothing out wrinkles, I typically peel the two layers apart and use just the top layer in decoupage. It gives a watercolor effect you just can't get with traditional paper.

These napkins are a bit thinner than I expected, but they do a satisfactory job of protecting clothing and cleaning the fingers. The round design, folded into a fan shape, makes a nice change from the ubiquitous square napkin. The porcelain pattern is elegant and attractive. These napkins work well for everyday or special occasion use. And they fit well (and without any extra folding) into my breakfast table's napkin holder, which is a big plus.
