This works. For context, you're better off with this product than just with hooks. So yes, it works. Construction is good and can take a beating. Most importantly, it holds bait really well if your bait is the right consistency. The product with bait means you don't have to put weight on line if you're fishing waterways with no or little current. I like this type of method feeder, but I do like using one with the slip line. For sensitive fish, I found when they pull the hook with the feeder, they will spit the hook as opposed to pulling line through the slip and having a better chance of taking the bait and hook. I would recommend using circle hooks with this feeder. Lastly, I found the coil can hang up your hook(s) as opposed to a method weight feeder. I've tried using a long leader, a short leader, and putting the baited hook on the feeder. In all cases I could not avoid tangling on the feeder if the fish pick up the bait and start eating on the feeder.Overall, the cost/value, usability/simplicity, and productivity I would recommend this product.

These hold up great and work perfect. We use a mix of canned sweet corn, panko, and strawberry jello. These hold that mixture well. We attach a hair rig after these baited with sweet corn. We have been catching catfish and carp! The kids love them.
