I used this in my natural gas, non-vented, logs. The pilot burner wouldn't keep a flame going so I used the thermocouple and igniter with my old pilot burner. This new pilot burner seemed to be sized for propane gas. I am a trained, licensed, gas appliance servicer and have the professional knowledge to make these adjustments. I personally recommend you hire a professional for these type repairs.

First, mine is a Comfort Glow and my issue was the pilot was not igniting from the igniter and there was corrosion build up on the flu end after 23 yrs. Thus when I manually lit the pilot, it was half yellow with an up sweeping flame. If you have the old manual, you'll see this is not how it's supposed to be. It's supposed to be a straight, primarily blue flame across the thermocouple. Both pics are after install.I had the identical problem Jared did as I titled upon install of the new parts. Even though the provided orifice appeared to have a large enough hole, it did not provide proper fuel to the pilot. The pilot would come on only about an inch, then it would go out if I left it alone for a bit or when I tried to apply fuel. So as Jared said, simply swap it with the old orifice and the flame came on as it should and I now have properly functioning space heater to include pilot lighting.I only gave it a 4 star simply for the modification swap needed, other than that it would of gotten a 5.

I received this unit today and installed it which is a straight forward process. The pilot light on this unit did not allow enough gas thru to stay lit or heat the thermocouple enough to operate the main valve. I reused the old pilot because all I really needed was the thermocouple which so far appears to be working. I read other reviews about this item that had the same problem so there appears to be a quality assurance issue with the pilot light portion. So if you buy this unit and only need the ignitor and/or thermocouple you're in luck--I think-- but it's a hit or miss on the pilot light.I'm adding this after further study.I believe this unit has an orfice sized for propane rather than natural gas.Propane is delivered at a much higher pressure than natural gas thus requiring a smaller orfice. For natural gas, pilot orifices run from .014 to .026 and for LP from .006 to .013.Most natural gas pilots on heating using thermocouples are .018 or a tad larger that 1/64" (#77 drill bit). Quite a difference in orfice size hence the low flame.

So this is supposed to be the updated part number, according to DESA, for 110803-01. I own the ComfortGlow model CBN30T by DESA International. The old part is pictured attached to this review. The part looks different, but it does physically fit in my heater. The trouble is the pilot is weak. It actually gets snuffed out when after the heater cycles on, then cuts off when it reaches the desired temperature in the room. There is something wrong here. I wouldn't recommend this part.
